THE BEST OF KEITH JAMES - 50 years as an independent Musician

8pm   Tickets £15
‘devotion, integrity, experience. All spinning as one’ Guardian
Keith James is probably one of the most active and well-loved musicians in the country.
His passionate solo performances have visited just about every Theatre and Arts Centre in
the UK as well as venues in Spain, Italy, Greece, France, Holland, Denmark and Norway. In
concert, Keith has always been a very unique and delicate performer, specialising in re-
interpreting the music of writers for whom he has always embraced a deep, life long, heart
felt belief: Nick Drake, Joni Mitchell, Leonard Cohen, Cat Stevens – writing which has
both depth and a genuine sense of purpose.
These concerts, along with a 10 year sidestep during the ‘90s as a record producer, have
sustained Keith as an entirely independent musician since his initial Wine Bar circuit which
began in 1974.
Included in this concert will be many ‘stand out’ songs from his vast back catalogue of
concerts: Nick Drake’s Northern Sky, Leonard Cohen’s Suzanne, Joni Mitchell’s Big
Yellow Taxi, Cat Steven’s Moonshadow and Lorca’s El Mascaron, as well as many of
Keith’s own songs which have found their place on his list of original CD Albums across the
past decades.
This concert tour celebrates Keith’s 50 years in music and spans an entire year of 85
concerts all the way through to July 2025.
